'Neers 4 Queers
’Neers for the Queers is an LGBTQIA+ mentorship program offered to students in their first year at App who identify as LGBTQIA+ that focuses on providing those students with the opportunity to connect with ASU’s LGBTQIA+ community through their relationship with their mentor, educational activities, and social events.
The 2021-2022 school year will be a pilot year for the 'Neers 4 Queers Program. We anticipate expanding the program in the coming years, depending on interest, participation and feedback from the pilot year. The 'Neers 4 Queers program will be led by a Student Director and a Graduate Student Director, in conjunction with the leadership of the Intercultural Student Affairs Office.
Neers '4 Queers is the brainchild of Ariela Allen, a current App State Student who saw a need when she herself was having a challenging time connecting with the queer community as a first year.
